this is a video of me on my porch a couple months ago playing a piece of a new song that i’ve been trying to write. i recorded it so that i could send it to a couple of critically minded friends, in the hopes that they would tell me what i was doing wrong, but, alas, even my critical friends are far too supportive and kind to be of any help—one of life’s bittersweet triumphs. love you, guys. -mat

i finished writing this song a few months after, but now going back and watching this, i kind of prefer it without the end. how do people make decisions of any kind about anything at all?
