Other People’s Songs (Volume One)stream/download for free: here.
you’re the only proper noun i need
This is how you cover a fucking Why? song….
wow.
ooohhhhh myyy ggooodddddd what the fuck this cover!!! i want to listen to it forever and ever. i can’t even bring myself to reblog this because it means i have to stop pressing play every time the audio file stops. install this in my ears for always.
reblogging myself on behalf of more tumblr notes/plays than i’ve ever seen on something that i made. thanks everybody for sharing stuff, it’s seriously the weirdest and most amazing feeling ever that i have no idea how to express with words. please keep doing that. also, how is it that WHY? is as amazing as they are? holy hell i love that band. (also also, i was 20 when i recorded this and now i’m 25 and what the fuck life.)
all of the love,

(but who made this black and white? and why? for a second i was all “does that mean i’m crazy and this is from manhattan?” and then i was all “no, of course not, it’s most definitely from annie hall.” and after that i was all “so why is it black and white?” and then nothing. and then, well here we are.)

rainbows-in-the-dark)this is a video of me on my porch a couple months ago playing a piece of a new song that i’ve been trying to write. i recorded it so that i could send it to a couple of critically minded friends, in the hopes that they would tell me what i was doing wrong, but, alas, even my critical friends are far too supportive and kind to be of any help—one of life’s bittersweet triumphs. love you, guys. -mat
i finished writing this song a few months after, but now going back and watching this, i kind of prefer it without the end. how do people make decisions of any kind about anything at all?

The Sarcastic Dharma Society Answered:thank you! i think i might also be in love with that song, less so my version, but, still, it’s kind of fucked up good. also, thank you for listening and for writing and all that stuff.

"why did u suddenly start following all of your followers"
The Sarcastic Dharma Society Answered:that—is a funny question to be asked “anonymously”. yeah?
i usually follow everyone who follows me, or i try to, but the other day i got an email saying that someone started following me, but there wasn’t an alert in tumblr at all, so i went to the “followers” page to see if my email made it up, and i found that person and followed them, and then noticed about 20 or so followers listed there that i wasn’t following, so i followed them!
that may have been hard to follow?

reblogging myself because Meyercord is the shit. if you’re not familiar, i recommend you go check out his other band Y La Bamba, they just got back from this east coast tour with The Lumineers, who are this obscure band who you may have heard of from somewhere like the grammys.

Anonymous Asked:
"are you going to release any new music soon for download, like 3am or elevator?"
The Sarcastic Dharma Society Answered:yes for 3am. soon!
elevator, that song is sort of weird for me, i feel like it doesn’t sit so well next to any of my other stuff so probably no. though i do like that it has that “miles to go before i sleep” robert frost reference in it, which is really just a reference to my mom, who i remember saying that a lot.
